origin and inspirations

Greenhouse was originally conceived circa 2014 when Hana was eleven years of age and thriving in the sixth grade. Largely inspired by Tumblr's FNAF fandom (specifically bamsarakiilledyou) and Zach, I decided to show off my own thinking by projecting different facets of my identities (and some others) onto this cast of chaotic rat men characters. I am VERY slowly but steadily working on refining and putting into words this story of vague concepts of an idea that have stewed in my mind for the past decade now. Please enjoy :)

synopsis

Greenhouse follows the Drivhus!!! of The Calbit IslandsSomewhere in the middle of what was previously known as the Atlantic Ocean, the Barrenlands (known locally as the Calbit Islands), a small cluster of islands off of some coast, is home to banished allosexuals. Chosen for its secludedness and placed under the guise of being a social experiment, the island is monitored occasionally by selected agents., specifically Miki Chiang, a middle aged bisexual woman who once was a member of The New Americas!!! (TNAs): a perfect America that arises in 5393 following a series of international tragedies. As she and many similarly queer Americans are banished from TNAs; main and home land to "The Verdants!!!"; to a way off shore island, a new civilation comes to rise. Inspired by puberty-emerged powers, known locally as Graces of GodThose with Graces are named “The Gifted.” These abilities are a recent phenomenon, having mutated within the last century and believed to have been granted by some greater being. The Graces themselves are highly variable, but tend to fall under the following categories: elemental, social, presentation, and manipulation. The presence of a Grace is a dominant trait, meaning offspring are likely to inherit their parents’ Gifts., the Verdants adapt where the Drivhus grow. As TNAs strive to develop a streamlined society, with holistic goals to further the gap of world power importance, any political challenge must be set aside--including and especially human lust.

The Drivhus identify as one of two distinct groups: SagesAt the advent of deviant segregation, those who already existed among the Verdant needed to be relocated. Through selective retroactive amnesia, these individuals retained just enough memory to be able to assist one another and jumpstart the new society. (of the old age) & KinBabies disposed to the island at their birth, after inspection by prophetic doctors, these humans were grown and raised solely by sages and a few super natural causes that ultimately went underlooked. This second generation also includes those birthed on the Calbit Island. (of the new age)
